The WV Writers annual Summer Conference took place June 12-14, 2009 at Cedar Lakes Conference Center near Ripley, WV.   We'd like to thank all the presenters, staff, interns and attendees who made it such a success.  Please see our contest page for a list of winners from this contest. FACTS ABOUT THE WV WRITERS ANNUAL CONFERENCE Established in 1978 Held the second weekend in June at Cedar Lakes Conference Center, Ripley, WV Reception Three days of writing workshops People's choice competitions for both Prose and Poetry Writers' Wall writing display and competition Informal discussions Banquet Writing Competition Awards Ceremony Social activities Bookstore Silent Auction Annual business meeting Entertainment. PLEASE NOTE:  One of the major changes to the WV Writers Membership Application in both the on-line application form and the WV Writers Brochure is the addition of a Referred By blank.  Members of WV Writers who wish to print out the application form or brochure and distribute them to local libraries and other community locations may write their own name in the Referred By blank and will receive a $5 credit toward the cost of the Annual Conference if a new person joins WV Writers using one of those distributed applications. There is no limit to the number of $5 credits a member can receive for referred new members.
