2012 Summer Conference

The WV Writers Spring Conference 2012 will take place June 8, 9 and 10 at Cedar Lakes Conference Center in Ripley, WV. 

Pre-registration will be open through May 31, 2012.  Registration forms for both the conference itself and for lodging and meals through Cedar Lakes are posted below. 

*Please note that registration is a two-part process.  The Conference Registration Form is to register for the conference itself.  The Cedar Lakes form is to register for lodging and meals at the conference, including the Awards Banquet.  Cedar Lakes does not take phone reservations, but will take them by mail and FAX via the registration form below.

Registration for the Conference alone may also be made through Pay Pal.  Cedar Lakes meals and lodging registration must be done through the Cedar Lakes registration form.

DICK LEWIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

In memory of longtime WV Writers Board Member Richard Lewis, his family and the WV Writers board has established a needs-based scholarship to be given for the 2012 WV Writers, Inc. Conference. This scholarship will include 3-day registration, room for Friday and Saturday, meals for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, including the banquet, and also either a membership/renewal to West Virginia Writers for membership year 2012-2013 (if already paid for 2012-2013, recipient's membership will be extended to 2014). The recipient will be responsible for his or her own transportation costs to and from conference.

Interested writers aged 18 and older may apply for the scholarship by submitting an essay about writing interests, benefits anticipated from conference participation, and a short biography. Essay submissions may be sent by email to dicklewisscholarship@gmail.com or postal mail to: WVW Scholarship, c/o Terry McNemar - Crow's Quill, 1107 Cost Road, Stonewood, WV 26301. Essays must be received (email) or postmarked (postal mail) by May 15, 2012. Please include your name, address, phone number and email (if applicable) on the first page of your essay.
